If they don't report favorably on me, I'm gonna die.īill: Eh it looks like I'm gonna live. And I'm one of the lucky ones, 'cause most bills never even get this far. Is all that discussion and debate about you?īill: You know it is. How I hope and pray that they will, but today I am still just a bill.īoy: Listen to those congressmen arguing. Well, now I'm stuck in com-mit-tee, and I'll sit here and wait, while a few key Con-gress-men dis-cuss and de-bate, whether they should let me be a law. Yes I'm only a bill, And I got as far as Capitol Hill. And I'll remain a bill until they decide to make me a law. Rep McCoy: You're right, there oughta be a law.īill: Then he sat down, and wrote me out and introduced me to Congress, and I became a bill. Some folks back home decided they wanted a law passed, so they called their local Congressman and he said: But when I started, I wasn't even a bill, I was just an idea. At least I hope and pray that I will, but today I am still just a bill.īill: Eh, I guess. It's a long, long wait while I'm sitting in committee, but I know I'll be a law someday. When these Capitol Hill restaurants started popping up on our Best New American, Best Chicken Wings, and Best Patio lists, we knew it was time that we created our own Best Capitol Hill Restaurants list to highlight this wonderful and under appreciated part of SLC.Boy: Woof! You sure gotta climb a lot of steps to get to this Capitol Building here in Washington. And… there’s restaurants? Yes!Ĭapitol Hill and it’s sister neighborhood to the West, the Marmalade District, are firmly on the up-and-up which means more Capitol Hill restaurant options, coffee shops, and more than a few places to get a drink. The steep hills, manicured lawns, beautiful homes, incredible Valley views, and, of course, the magnificent State Capitol Building sitting at the end of State Street surrounded by cherry blossoms. SLC’s Capitol Hill neighborhood is stunning. Hot take: the Capitol Hill neighborhood is what people think the Avenues is really like. And I’m sitting here on Capitol Hill.”Ĭapitol Hill was the first SLC neighborhood I lived in when I moved from the south end of the Valley to the big city, and I will also be it’s most ardent supporter (of the neighborhood, not of what goes on inside the Capitol building). ![]()
